Accessible Holiday Accommodation
Roaches Hall welcomes all guests with our partly wheelchair-accessible holiday accommodation.
Accessible Bedroom
If you require a bedroom with wheelchair access we got you covered! Read more to learn about our accessibility.
There are two wide steps up to the front door, but we do have a ramp available for you – just let us know in advance of your visit. Once inside the level ground floor has access to the reception rooms (the Grand Reception Room, lovely Drawing Room, Dining Room & Kitchen) and an accessible-friendly double en-suite bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom come with wide doorways with an accessible wet room (with space for a hoist or wheelchair-turning circle). There are two further ground floor bedrooms (a twin and a quad) which, whilst not wheelchair accessible as they have two steps up to reach them, they do provide bedrooms and a shower room without the need to climb a staircase. Please do read our full Access Statement to ensure that your own requirements can be met – or you are very welcome to visit prior to booking.
Hearing Help
For those who are hard of hearing we can provide a Deafguard, which will vibrate under your pillow, should the fire alarms go off.
Visual Impairment
If you or your guests have any visual impairment, the principal ground floor rooms are generous in size and have wooden floors and a wealth of natural light. The main staircase is wide and has a handrail.
Outside there is a garden without steps and you can park immediately outside of Roaches Hall.
Private Dining and Beauty Treatments
You can stay at Roaches Hall and have an amazing time, without even leaving the Hall! Why not invite in trained beauty therapists for your own personal pamper package? Or celebrate a night to remember by welcoming a private a chef and waiters to serve you a fabulous dinner party, so you can dress up and enjoy your own private restaurant experience. Best part, you don’t have to worry about any drinks bill markup (as you bring your own drinks), or the washing up, or the drive home!
Beyond Roaches Hall there are some lovely accessible things to do in the Peak District!
Miles without Styles Routes
The Peak District has a number of routes which have been graded so you can be confident that they are suitable for your use (access for All, Access for Many, Access for Some). They are variously paths suitable for those with limited mobility including wheelchair users, families with scooters or pushchairs and the visually impaired.
Accessible Cycle Hire
You can pre book hire of Boma and Tramper All-Terrain mobility scooters, hand-crank cycles and wheelchair cycles from Parsley Hay Cycle Hire. This provides direct access to The Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail using the base of old railway lines. So you don’t miss out on the stunning Peak District scenery!
Accessible Attractions in the Peak District
There are many attractions throughout the Peak District that welcome all visitors. These include Peak Wildlife at Winkhill (wide paths enable you to get close to all the animals and birds), the Pavilion Gardens at Buxton, Crich Tramway Museum and Chatsworth House (including a lift to explore the upper floors).
